We’re nothing without our members. Anyone can join. We’re an independent library and our members come from all municipalities around Montreal and even from other cities and countries.

Borrowing Membership

$35 a year for people under 60 years of age
$20 a year for seniors aged 60 and up
$20 for six months for everyone
$10 for three months for everyone
Special discounts are available for students and Quebec Writers’ Federation (QWF) members.
The Borrowing Membership confers the following benefits, but no voting rights.

  • Access to the Library’s collection of 40,000 titles, including bestsellers, prize-winning books, 3,000 DVDs, eBooks, and audiobooks – almost all in English
  • 50% discounts on computer time
  • Discounts on computer courses and special events
  • The opportunity to be part of and support a charitable organization serving the Montreal community.

Supporting Membership with Voting Rights AND Borrowing Membership Benefits

$50/year for a ANNUAL Membership
$500 for a LIFE Membership

We accept payment by credit card, cheque (payable to Atwater Library) and cash.
